The story of Off-White began when Virgil Abloh decided to launch his own brand with a unique vision that fuses art, fashion and street wear . The name "Off-White" refers to the intermediate space between pure white and vibrant colors, symbolizing the fusion of contrasting elements in their designs.
In summer 2021, Nike and Off-White released their largest sneaker collection. Titled "The 50," the project consisted of 50 different colorways of the Nike Dunk Low, all packaged in a DIY-inspired box.
Each pair released as part of "The 50" comes decorated with hiking laces, Off-White text on the side, a label and a patch on the midsole that references the design number. Except for Lot 01, predominantly white, and Lot 50, predominantly black, each features a gray and white base that is enlivened with colorful elements.
